Kick-Off Recap & Vinoy Cup Update
MGA Members,
I hope everyone is settling into fall, and we look forward to having our winter friends join us soon. We had our first annual MGA Kick-Off event last Saturday, and it was an overwhelming success. For those who couldn’t attend, we had a tremendous four-man event that went off as a shotgun in the morning. Then, golfers and families gathered at the pool for burgers and dogs with a giant TV screen showing college football. Based on the outstanding participation, we will continue this in the future.
We also had our monthly board meeting last week, and we are locked in for our first big tournament of the year, the Vinoy Cup. This will be the same format and setup we all know and love. Ryder Cup-style matches of four-ball teams on Friday, followed by singles matches on Saturday. The only change is the name of the teams. Instead of USA vs. Europe, we added more spice to the rivalry by having LIV vs. PGA. The teams will be randomly assigned to have equal handicaps on each team. The fun begins on Thursday night when the captains assign individual matches at the pairings party. Please sign up now if you have not done so!
You can find all the Vinoy Cup details here.
